This itinerary was designed for two couples meeting halfway between Ottawa and Toronto. This itinerary includes self-catered accommodation and was designed for an early Spring experience.

Itinerary

Day 1
Drive from Ottawa OR Drive from Toronto | Admire the quaint offerings and heritage architecture in the small towns along the way | If driving from Toronto stop at Kawartha Dairy for some of the best ice cream in Ontario | If driving from Ottawa enjoy a burger lunch at The Hungry 7 | Arrive in Hastings County | Unpack and whip up a batch of cocktails | Explore the offerings of your accommodation whether it be ping pong, foosball or a good book | Prepare dinner and enjoy a relaxing evening

Day 2
Leisurely breakfast | Choose a hike or walk from the Great Trail Private | Enjoy a picnic lunch | Return to your accommodation for afternoon board games, cocktails and fire up the barbeque for a steak dinner | Evening of online or board game Monopoly

Day 3
Leisurely breakfast |Explore the area with another walk or hike to points of local interest | Stop to enjoy a takeout snack at one of the local restaurants such as the Hidden Goldmine Bakery |Return to the accommodation for cocktails | Sit and enjoy the sunset overlooking a waterfall | Dinner & evening at leisure

Day 4
Leisurely breakfast | Pack up and tidy your accommodation | Plan your driving route back to either Ottawa or Toronto to include an activity such as a bike ride in the Sharbot Lake areas (toward Ottawa) or explore the Sager Conservation Area on your return to Toronto | Give hugs, say goodbye and drive to the planned activity and then onward home.
